Hubby brought home a tin container that I think had popcorn in it. Someone gave it to him. So I'm not really sure but it smelled like popcorn. :)
I emptied the food into another container, put some cardboard in the inside to keep it from getting paint on it and lightly scuffed the outside of the can and lid.
Then took some white and black spray paint that was the paint + primer and gave it 2 coats of paint. I let it dry well, put the food back in and let it dry for a full day before pushing the lid down all the way.
I wanted to make it look similar to the canister I bought from Ballard's a few years back for Dozer's food.
Here is Dozer's container:
I could have just bought some vinyl and cut the lettering myself with my Cricut but that was more costly than just buying it premade off Etsy.
So here's Dixie's food container. She has her own food container because we switched to a weight maintenance food.

No More Rugs
No more area rugs for now. I cleaned them and put them away.
We came home from work not to long ago and found yet another hole in the little love seat and a big rip in the living room area rug under the love seat.
Trixie Destruction:
Not only that stuff but Trixie has "trimmed" my curtains and scratched up some trim around the doors.
Our 12 month old doberman, Trixie, has been a busy girl!
So I put the rugs away and will bring them back out later. The other issue is all the dog hair. With 3 dogs, my allergies are through the roof!! The dog hair is insane around here. I was vacuuming daily and sweeping. Now just a quick sweep in the morning and at night seems to help.
Here's the rug and no more rug pictures!

Living Room:
At least the kids like it better without the rugs. They said it doesn't look as dark inside and makes it feel bigger. I liked the rugs but not the dog hair in them and the dog trying to eat them!!

Doggy #3
We just added to our family again. Another dog. Dixie is a yellow lab and is the same age as Dozer. She's slightly over weight but we'll get her back in shape.
She was my mom & step dad's dog as was Trixie.
My step dad moved into an assisted living home this past weekend so he wasn't able to keep her like he had wanted to. We brought Trixie back with us after my moms memorial service in October. We went down on Thursday and picked her up and returned home on Friday. It was a LONG drive going from MI to GA and back again!
Here are some pictures.
This is my step dad & Dixie
She didn't like the snow much when we first let her outside but I think she's adjusting. She also learned the fence boundary really fast!

So far they seem to be adjusting to each other very well and get along ok.

Nathan's Birthday & New Puppy
After my Mom passed away on Matthew's birthday I took a break from blogging. Then life got busy. We went down to GA for her funeral and we came back with her then 7 month old puppy. She's a Doberman and was about 54lbs. She's grown a little since we got her. Dozer seems to really love his new friend Trixie. Dozer is a Great Dane/ Rottie mix.
Since then Trixie has become a part of our family. She seems to learn really fast. She so far has been a lot easier to teach things to than Dozer was/is.
On Nov. 3rd our baby turned 11. I don't know where the time goes. Sometimes I think "I can't believe he's 11 already" and then other times I think "I can't believe he's ONLY 11!".
We took him out to dinner and he loves to have my garlic bread if my meal comes with it. He likes to put jelly on it!
Anyway that's it for today. We've been busy working on a 600sq ft addition we are doing for my best friend Adrianne and her family. We started it in September. The structure is done and we are currently siding it. I've done a few things around the house nothing too exciting just small stuff which I will post about later.

Gates Are Up
We've had our old baby gates since our 12 year old, almost 13 years old, was born. They've taken a beating. We started using them again on the stairs once we got Dozer. We would just lean them across the openings when we either wanted to keep him upstairs or downstairs. He never bothered them but the boys would just knock them down and step on them.
I found some just like them online and ordered 2 more. The nice thing is they are now taller than our old ones. Once they arrived I stained & poly'd them to match our trim.
I cut some small pieces of wood to use as blocking since box newel posts and baseboards made things uneven. I painted & stained them to match where they were going.
Here's the bottom of the stairs:
Here's the top of the stairs:
Here's where I used the blocking:
And speaking of gates, this is what keeps Dozer out of the kitchen. He will NOT step over it no matter how good the food smells on the other side!

Recovery Buddy
Dozer has been stuck by my side for the 2 weeks before my surgery and ever since I had my gallbladder removed on the 13th.
If he's not following me around the house then he insists on laying on or near me!

Carpet Cleaner
While we were gone over the weekend our doggie was sick to his stomach. He was eating grass on Friday so that would explain the 6 nasty spots on the carpet. Our friend cleaned it up but it left some stain spots.
I picked up some Folex carpet cleaner/ spot remover from Lowe's a few weeks ago to get some motor oil stains out of the rug that hubby tracked in from his shoes!
Here's some of the stains.
Pretty gross!!
Basically you just spray the stuff on and blot/rub it off. It instantly took the stains away.
And the big beast is all forgiven :)

Crazy Dog
Today a young man came to the door selling books. I only opened the door a
little bit but Dozer jumped up behind me and had his paws on my
shoulders and was trying to look around my head! What the
heck....crazy dog!! So then I went outside to tell them I wasn't
interested and Dozer jumped up and hit the dead bolt and locked me out
of the house!!! Thankfully Noah was in his room so I went and banged
on his window so he could let me back in the house! Darn Dog!!!
Normally Dozer behaves way better than that. He has never jumped on me before like that and he's only ever jumped at the door one time and that was when a substitute mail man was dropping off a package and Dozer scared the you know what out of him and the guy almost fell off our porch backwards!
Dozer is a happy 110 pound Rottie Great Dane Mix! He's our loveable beast!
