Quick Trip

On Sunday we left for a quick trip up to Manistee to visit some friends who were staying there for a week.  We don't normally take vacations.  If we do they are typically 2 to 3 days long and most of it is spent driving.  We left at 6 in the morning on Sunday and arrived there around 11am.   We unloaded the truck and went to the beach with our friends!

We spent a few hours on the beach then watched a thunderstorm roll in.

After dinner we went back to the beach and watched the waves and sunset despite the "sandstorm".  It felt like we were being sandblasted! 

On Monday we just walked around town and then we left to go home.

 We took a picture of all the kids feet!  Her 3 boys plus a neighbor kid and our 4 boys.

Next year we plan to go up and stay a week!  Hopefully that works out because it is just beautiful there!

Harbor Springs 2012

In August we took a short trip up to Harbor Springs, MI.  We joined my hubbies parents and had a great time exploring the area.

We stayed at Birchwood Inn.  It's a throwback in time kinda place.  Everything seemed to be original.  The heated pool wasn't heated.  The tennis courts were over grown with weeds and no longer usable. One of the beds collapsed as soon as the boys sat on it!  Hubby fixed it though.  So if nice comfy non collapsing beds & soft towels are your thing then this isn't your place!
