Framed Chalkboard

We had a busy day yesterday.  First we finished working on trim/mouldings for a client then we made and put the frame around the chalkboard in the kitchen.  We also hung the floating shelves I made.

In January I rolled on 3 coats of Valspar chalkboard paint and let it dry for 24 hours.

I used 3 1/2 inch wide poplar for the frame and stained it with Minwax Early American stain.   A few coats of wipe on polyurethane and it's good to go! The chalkboard is 62" tall by 38" wide.
