February Update

Can't believe February is almost over.   I have spent all of February sick as well as the last 2 weeks of January.   Started with a sinus infection.  Then was better for a few days.  Then the kids all got the 24 hour stomach bug but I of course had it for 3 miserable days.  Then round 2 of sinus infection which then lead to a horrible ear infection that keeps getting worse instead of better.  Antibiotics, ear drops and pain meds.  Then needed benadryl because the vicoden makes me itchy all over.  The ear pain is insane.  I get ear infections 2 to 3 times a year but this is the worst one I have ever had.

On to some pictures.

We had my inlaws over for the Super Bowl.  That was a lot of fun and yummy food!

This was one day that I was feeling ok!

I joined Ipsy and got my first bag this February.

I made a nice dinner for Valentine's Day.  It was so good.  We had london broil, french onion soup, salad and cake.

Now it's time to put all the Valentines stuff away.  Looking forward to hopefully a healthy March!

Fall Dining Room

I am loving this table runner my mother in law gave me for my birthday!!  The colors are so vibrant and fall like!  I believe it came from Pier One.

Here are some pictures of the dining room all set for fall!  Sorry about the bad lighting.

The Thankful banner was from Lowe's this year.
The glass pumpkins on the buffet  and goblets were from JoAnnes a few years ago.
The amber bubble glass goblets can be found on Amazon.
The plates are Sandwich Amber by Tiara.  My mom and dad received them as wedding gifts and my dad gave me the 6 plates that he still had.  I have since added another 6 that I found on replacements.com.
The pumpkins on the table were from Target this year.
The battery candles and wood slice were from Homegoods.

Dining Room Wall Art

I found these neat farm animal prints on Amazon.

They came mounted on some fiber board.  I took the hangers off the back and glued them to plywood then used some scrap wood to frame them out.

No More Rugs

No more area rugs for now.  I cleaned them and put them away.

We came home from work not to long ago and found yet another hole in the little love seat and a big rip in the living room area rug under the love seat.

Trixie Destruction:

Not only that stuff but Trixie has "trimmed" my curtains and scratched up some trim around the doors.

Our 12 month old doberman, Trixie, has been a busy girl!

So I put the rugs away and will bring them back out later.  The other issue is all the dog hair.  With 3 dogs, my allergies are through the roof!!  The dog hair is insane around here.  I was vacuuming daily and sweeping.  Now just a quick sweep in the morning and at night seems to help.

Here's the rug and no more rug pictures!

Living Room:

At least the kids like it better without the rugs.  They said it doesn't look as dark inside and makes it feel bigger.  I liked the rugs but not the dog hair in them and the dog trying to eat them!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

We had our traditional St. Patrick's day dinner on Monday.  We had my inlaws over and we devoured 3 corn beef roasts, cabbage and mashed potatoes along with gluten free Irish soda bread.  YUM!

I forgot to take pics of the food but did take a few pictures of the table setting.  Please ignore the very wrinkly table cloth!

I love the glasses.  We picked those up the other night from the store.  They are Anchor Hocking 8 in  a pack for $10.  We bought 2 boxes of them.  Our other clear glasses were disappearing fast between the kids and dogs breaking them.  The other night we were sitting at the table eating dinner and our 12 month old doberman jumped up and hit a bowl which slid into one of the glasses sending glass everywhere.  We had 12 of them and then we were down to 5 which wasn't even enough for just us much less having company over!  They still sold them but I decided to go with something a little heavier and thicker in hopes these won't shatter as easy.

Easter Weekend 2014

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

We had my inlaws over for Easter dinner on Saturday.  Then on Easter Sunday we did some small things around the house and went out to dinner.

I know  Dozer really enjoyed the weather!

We colored eggs or I should say Jacob & Nathan colored the eggs.

Then we set the table for Easter dinner!

On Sunday we put the gauges in my excursion.  Then on Monday the radiator cracked LOL!!  No worries though the new radiator will be here on Wednesday and hubby will put it in either that night or sometime on Thursday when he gets off work.

Then the boys put on their nice clothes for pictures.  They even tied their own ties but I think only Noah did it the right way!

Happy New Year ~ 2014

I hope everyone has a happy, wonderful and healthy New Year!

Our oldest had plans for this NYE and was going to miss out on our traditional New Years Eve snacks!  One of his favorites is shrimp cocktail.

When  I was growing up we always had some snacks and watched movies & the ball drop.  Now we carry on that tradition with our kids.  Jacob our 12 year old helped me make all the  snacks this year.

Our snacks this year included chips, chex mix, lil' smokies, shrimp, bell peppers, pizza rolls, loaded potato skins, gluten free chocolate chip cookies, hot chocolate, water and pop.

Here's a look at last years snacks
